It doesn't get any better than the speed and service at this smog center. Rolled up on a hot, hot Saturday afternoon and was immediately greeted by a friendly staff member who said he'd take care of me immediately and be done in 10 minutes. He offered me a shady spot to sit down and, in less than 10, my car had passed and was backed into the drive for easy exit. Great smog check experience!

Mid-City Smog Check is STAR certified checked and approved by the California DMV. Located close to the North Park area of San Diego. Best to call ahead for appointment and speak to the owner Jimmy. Received the notice from DMV for the annual registration and my car needed a smog test...ugh! I'm still not familiar with the San Diego areas and don't know too many locals for referrals. Thanks to YELP, after searching and reading some credible reviews, I decided on Mid-City Smog. I called and Jimmy said he didn't need the DMV paperwork, everything is computerized and his shop was less than 10 minute drive from Mission Hills. The shop is not fancy, but it got the work done in under 15 minutes. My Mercedes is an AMG, 8 cylinder monster. Some smog shops in LA claimed my car didn't pass the smog test so I was nervous, but also later learned those shops lied and my reviews on them will be posted later. Here, at Mid-City Smog check, the smog check process was easy and Jimmy was professional, courteous and nice. After passing the smog test, it was sixty-five dollars which about the same cost in West Los Angeles and definitely worth it! For a headache free smog check test experience, Mid-City Smog Check gets my Recommendation!!

Came in without a reservation during a weekday late morning, did not have to wait at all as there were no other customers at the time. Smog check was thorough and quick. Jimmy is very professional and pleasant to interact with. Will continue to come back here again for all my smog check needs for my vehicles.
